1976 Kluson Manufacturing Company Catalog Scan

This is a scan of a Kluson Manufacturing Company jobbers catalog effective December 1976, according to the price list in the rear of the booklet. The lineup of products is dated 1970. Kluson catalogs are exceedingly rare as they were provided only to dealers and manufacturers so they would've been printed in small numbers. They were likely tossed out as they became irrelevant with new catalogs or with the eventual closure of Kluson in 1981. I have only found references to two other extant catalogs. The first catalog, dated 1970 on the first page, originated from a Charvel factory auction and the second, dated 1950s by the seller, had no given backstory. This particular catalog came from Angela Instruments in Maryland who received it in the 70s and used it to order Fender-style tuners in bulk from Kluson.

Locating a Kluson catalog has been my white whale for a few years now and I am proud to be the first person offering up this high quality scan for the world to see. I've spoken with the current owner of the Kluson brand, who is similarly interested in the history of the original company, and we had a great conversation. I do not own the copyright to the catalog, WD Music does, so I am not the person to ask regarding any commercial use of the catalog. I am providing this as a resource to historians, players, and collectors to help preserve the history of American musical instrument manufacturing. My only ask is a credit to my website and to the Kluson website if you use any part of these scans. Thanks and enjoy!
